FAQ
What is the easiest way to get mobile data for EXPO 2027 Belgrade?
Buy a Serbian eSIM online before you fly. Globaltel, Yettel and A1 Srbija sell eSIMs online: you pay, receive a QR code by email, scan it and register online with your passport. If your phone has no eSIM, buy a tourist SIM at the A1 shop at Belgrade airport or at an mts, Yettel or A1 store in the city.
Which Serbian operators let me buy an eSIM without visiting a shop?
As of October 2026: Globaltel (Visitor eSIM, 50 GB for 10 days, 500 RSD), Yettel (unlimited eSIM from 1 to 30 days, online only) and A1 Srbija (Welcome eSIM, 200 GB for 7 days, 1,000 RSD). mts has announced online sales of its Super Turist package; confirm eSIM availability on mts.rs.
Do I need to register my SIM or eSIM in Serbia?
Yes. Since 10 February 2025 every prepaid number in Serbia must be registered with an ID card or passport. Online eSIM buyers register online; in a shop you show your passport. Unregistered numbers can only call emergency services and customer care.
Where is EXPO 2027 and how far is it from the airport?
EXPO 2027 takes place from 15 May to 15 August 2027 at the new EXPO complex in Surčin, Belgrade, next to the National Stadium — about 5 km from Nikola Tesla Airport and about 15 km west of the city centre.
Is public transport in Belgrade free?
Yes. City buses, trams and trolleybuses in Belgrade are free for everyone, no ticket needed. Exceptions are the A1 airport minibus and E express lines, which are paid on board in dinars.
Will Serbian SIM cards work in neighbouring countries?
Several Serbian tourist packages include some Western Balkans roaming (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania). EU roaming with Serbia is being reduced; check each package before you travel on.
How do I know if my phone supports eSIM?
Dial *#06#. If you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM. Most iPhones from XS/XR onward, Google Pixel 3 and newer and recent Samsung Galaxy S, Z and A5x models support eSIM. The phone must also be unlocked.
